I missed this thread. Was the call recorded. I some how thought weathering was for May. 🤪I’m loving it but slow is my reading life lately. I’ll order the next one today and read both. Thanks
Found you via Beth Kempton's River of Words course, Louisa. Just ordered Jess's book and will make a gentle start on it in bed tonight. Thank you for this lovely space.
I love this so much! I'm a bit late to the book club but I look forward to catching up on weathering and am getting an early start on Jess Pan's book.🧡
I love this! I will see you this evening with my very new copy of Weathering in my hand (I might take this as an excuse to sit and read for an hour this afternoon!)
Ooh I’m delighted to come across this gorgeously gentle book club. The book list! Would love to join you and I’ve been meaning to treat myself to Weathering ☺️
So glad I've just discovered you 🤗 (by you seeing me, which is lovely, thank you). You write beautifully. I love this idea of a slow book club, giving us breathing space, which is much needed in today's speedy society. I feel good that I've already consumed Weathering and look forward to Ruth's zoom, what a treat. It's a great book. I've also already listened to Kokoro, which is beautiful, but I bet by the time it's comes around in your book club I'll be ready to listen all over again. 😊. Looking forward to the others, thank you.
Oh Luisa I love everything about this!!! I love the choices, that you have included poetry and short stories, that you have Kokoro on here (which I have pre-ordered!!) and also that you are rounding up with Daisy B - I've never read her either! The pace of this is just perfect, and the lack of 'pressure', the gentleness. I honestly feel relaxed just reading this post. I cannot wait to read and share thoughts on this. I've just had the release date for my book which is 13 March 2025 so fingers crossed I may even qualify for next year! Much love x
I’m so excited about this book club, @Luisa! I think you’ve managed to get me excited enough to join for this. Eeeeee! I got the sparkles from this post.
I'm looking forward to read this beautiful list of books. Still not sure if I can keep up and read all these books, because all the other books I want to read for myself 😄, but I will absolutely give it a try!
I’m in Canada, I just checked and Weathering is available for pre-order via Apple Books! ps on Mar 28 when it releases you can sample it too - for those needing a little dose of encouragement 💛
Hooray, this is a beautiful, precious list. So many books here I have wanted to read and some that are new to me. So wonderful to see Huma Qureshi’s ‘Things We Do Not Tell the People We Love’, I credit that book for getting me back into reading last January after a long hiatus when I felt consumed by early motherhood, it is devastatingly good! I have really enjoyed the first few pages of Weathering this evening, looking forward to going slow with you all 🤎 xx

What a beautifully inspired ideas and a beautiful way to support women voices on Substack. 🫶🏻 cheering them all on.
These all sound amazing! And I've just read Jess Pan's and LOVED it so much. What a wonderful idea. Thanks for creating this, Luisa

Great list, although I'm still unsure to participate, I put a few titles on my TBR. Enjoy your holidays x
