Ingredients:
3 eggshells
1 tsp each of earth, air, fire and water
1 teacup of spirit
1 thimble of moondust
equal measure of hope, beauty, rebellion and rage. Double of wisdom.
equal parts adventure, exhaustion, friendship, heartbreak, hot sweats and spontaneous tears.
a drizzle of honey
1 heaped spoonful each of magic, patience and love
Method:
Take a large heatproof bowl.
Crack 3 eggs and walk on the empty shells.
Next, combine one teaspoon each of earth, air, fire and water, with a teacup of spirit and a thimble of moondust. Beat well.
Marble your mixture with an equal blend of ignorance to its own beauty, and hope, before adding a dash of gentle rebellion.
Leave to rest.
Now, carefully temper one part rage with two parts wisdom.
Refrigerate, to cool.
In a separate bowl, whip adventure with exhaustion, friendship with heartbreak and hot sweats with spontaneous tears.
Bake for two decades, or until golden.
Once ready, lightly char the edges with a blowtorch, ensuring the centre stays soft and gooey.
Taste for spice, heat and any residual bitterness (drizzle honey to sweeten, if needed).
Float magic like marshmallows, dust liberally with patience, and serve, with a large spoonful of love.
Really lovely read. I often feel charred on the outside, but hope to never lose the gooey middle 💜
I believe that my particular recipe called for twice the helping of patience.
